I am an avid reader of fashion magazines, gossip rags, and books, a raging television addict and movie lover, with a good idea (well, an idea at least) of how everything could be made better. The term "Lawrencing Around" refers to the act of engaging in any two- or more- of the above activities at the same time (reading material can vary, computer usage is also an accepted form of entertainment). This is my family's primary source of exercise. In this blog I will offer my opinions on various topics in the entertainment arena. I may even invite some other Lawrencing veterans tell you what they think from time to time (so far no one is interested, although they aren't short on opinions). These opinions may be based on personal experience or on misinformed assumptions made at the spur of the moment. I welcome comments that are helpful, constructive or clever. If you feel offended or outraged by any of the statements made herein - get your own blog. This is mine.
I just saw a new commercial for Wheat Thins where people are floating in a wheat field while Frankie sings "come fly with me." I don't know if this makes me want crackers, but it sure does make me want a trampoline!
Apropos of nothing, I saw The Golden Compass and Enchanted this weekend. Enjoyed them both, though I imagine Compass would have been a bit hard to follow had I not read the book. And as for Enchanted, it was cute. Loved the happy work song with the vermin and roaches. And am I the only one who thinks James Mardsen is adorable? Loved him in Hairspray, too. As for tv, I am enjoying In Plain Sight, or whatever it is called, though I have to avoid staring at Mary McConnell's lips. Something weird going on there. Can't wait for Burn Notice, The Closer, and Damages to return.
seriously, what is going on wiht her lips? Her face in general seems a little weird - maybe a nose job as well as the odd lip plumping? I don't know - I keep meaning to look up old pics of her to remember what she used to look like so i can compare. And I am dying for Burn Notice - it was extremely disturbing to learn at the end of last season that i would have to wait an entire year for new episodes! monk has two seasons a year (Jan and Jul) so why not Burn Notice? Hopefully they will get on that schedule now that it has established a popular audience.
